UPDATED - Event: Launch of new report 'Delivering Better Services for the Public'

Following recent developments relating to the Coronavirus we have decided that the launch event will now only take place online.

The Serco Institute invites you to a panel discussion, followed by drinks reception with festive food, to mark the launch of our new report by the independent researchers Capital Economics: 'Delivering Better Services for the Public - How competition and choice can improve public service delivery in the UK'

The launch will take place online on 13 December at 4.15pm.

Our speakers include amongst others:

Sir John Manzoni – Former Chief Executive of the Civil Service and Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Office

Lord Blunkett – Former Home Secretary

Rupert Soames OBE – Chief Executive of Serco Group Plc

Non-state organisations have supported and delivered public services for decades. In recent months this relationship has been under evermore scrutiny. This in-depth, independent report outlines new data and analysis to show how this partnership can deliver more and better for less, for governments and taxpayers.

This new paper uses international evidence and expertise to understand the differences in performance between the private and public sector in terms of service quality and cost efficiency. The report examines three case study areas: prison management; hospital facilities management; and air traffic control services. It gives a real insight into how an effective partnership between government and industry can deliver better public services for all.
