Join us for the launch of our ground-breaking report, produced in partnership with KCL’s Centre for Defence Studies. Our expert panel will discuss how the defence community can work together to keep the UK armed forces at the cutting edge as it faces new pressures and grapples with changing threats.

The panel will be chaired by Kate Steadman, Director of the Serco Institute, and will include:

  • The Rt Hon. the Lord Lancaster of Kimbolton TD – Minister for the Armed Forces (2017-19) and Chair, Reserve Forces 2030 Review
  • Lieutenant-General Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB DL – CEO, SSAFA, and Chief of Defence People (2013-2016)
  • Elisabeth Braw – Fellow, American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research
  • Professor John Gearson – Director of King’s College London’s Centre for Defence studies
  • Lieutenant General James Swift OBE  –  Chief of Defence Personnel

As we await the outcome of the Government’s Integrated Review, which will define the vision for the UK’s role in the world over the next decade, this timely report (to be published and circulated on the 13th of October), produced in partnership between KCL and the Serco Institute, explores how Whole Force can improve the capacity and resilience of defence.

The report’s fourteen evidence-based recommendations, and its exploration of Whole Force models around the world, will be of interest to all those seeking to enhance the armed forces through public and private sector collaboration.

Our expert panel – drawn from the military, politics, industry, and academia – will discuss the key recommendations and how these can help deliver military effects in a flexible, efficient and cost-effective way. We look forward to welcoming you.
